Rodney/Radek 1/1
Aug. 17th, 2005 10:28 amTitle: Moving
Author: James
Rating: PG
Pairing: McKay/Zelenka
Spoilers: vague for early season two, but set somewhere in the future
Summary: Rodney doens't like moving
Notes: written for my illustrious beta, ms smooth, who is moving, herself, but doesn't have Radek, Elizabeth, or Rodney around to make things harder. Er, easier.
Rodney frowned. From the sudden grin he saw appear on Radek's face, he knew Radek probably thought he was pouting. He *wasn't*. He was frowning in displeasure and annoyance.
Even if Radek was now walking over, stepping around crates and boxes and piles of crap that how the hell had he acquired? Then Radek was in front of him and giving him a kiss, which Rodney was more than happy to take a break for. Radek slipped his arms around Rodney's waist and waited.
"I don't like moving," Rodney said.
"That was obvious, when it took you three weeks just to get boxes," Radek said. "Which is why I am here, helping. Otherwise I am not sure you would ever get packed."
"I should be packed!" Rodney said. "I don't own this much stuff! How do I have this much stuff? Is this all *mine*? Wait, that book - it's yours, isn't it?"
"It is yours," Radek said. "I have packed all my things from my quarters, and what I have left here. I am all moved in to our new quarters and am waiting, quite patiently, to 'break in' the new bed. If I can only get my very reluctant lover to pack his things and move in."
Rodney frowned. OK, fine, pouted. "Can't I just bring a daybag and get this stuff later? It isn't like the new renters are moving in tomorrow."
"No." Radek grinned. "The landlord insists you move today."
Rodney raised an eyebrow. "Who the hell is the landlord? There's no actual *land*, you know."
"Rodney, if you don't clear these quarters by tonight, I'm going to let Dr. Morrison have all the stuff you've left behind." Dr. Weir leaned around the doorway.
Rodney thought about it for a moment. He looked at the stuff that still had to be packed.
"No," Radek said, sternly. "Pack. Move. Let Danielle have room. You have boyfriend to placate." He let go of Rodney and walked back to the bookcase that he'd been emptying.
Rodney blinked. "Placate? Placate? What? What'd I do?"
Radek looked at him. "One would think you do not want to live with me."
"*I'm* the one who asked you!" Rodney exclaimed. "And I'm the one who talked Elizabeth into creating a separate engineering department just so you could be reassigned so I wouldn't be your boss and--" Rodney snapped his jaw shut, possibly later than he should have. Both Radek and Elizabeth were looking at him, both looking amused.
"Rodney," Elizabeth said. "Pack. Apologise later for dawdling."
Rodney blinked. "I'm not... I just don't understand where all this stuff came from."
"From Daedalus," Radek said. "And from someone who places orders every return trip."
Rodney opened his mouth to point out that the last shipment had been equally well-received by Radek as well, then he glanced at Elizabeth and decided that he had to has some discretion, even if he didn't have valour.
"I like the strawberry, myself," Elizabeth said, and she ducked out of sight.
Rodney dropped the clothes he'd picked up to pack. Radek just laughed.
