Bosco werewolf snippet

He was going to do it this time. One more thump and he was going to snap Brian's tail right off.
Off his face, at any rate. Whether Bosco managed to get it off Brian's ass depended on how fast the other werewolf moved.
The trouble was that Brian hadn't just laid his tail across Bosco's muzzle. If he had, then half a second later, Bosco would have bitten it. No - what Brian was doing was infinitely more irritating. He was flipping it around, hitting Bosco in the nose, across his closed eyes, against an ear.
Bap. Bap. Bap.
If Bosco tried to bite it and missed, Brian was going to hurt himself laughing. So he had to wait. He'd been timing the baps on his muzzle, and he was pretty sure that the next time Brian hit him in the ear, the next one would be landing on his nose. Close enough to bite the damn thing right off.
If he could just be bothered to move. The rug he was lying on was warm -- heat coming through the floorboards from a furnace below. He was also tired from running around like a police dog for ten hours, trying to track down a guy who gave himself up right before Bosco and Brian had had the pleasure of sinking their teeth into his legs.
After that, the Lieu had told Menetti about the barbecue being held in the gymnasium. The cops there were all generous with feeding anyone who gave them the 'I'm starving' big, brown eyes, and Brian and Bosco had both eaten more than a full-grown werewolf really needed to eat in one sitting.
THey'd ended up here, snoozing and waiting for sunrise. Trying to snooze, anyway. Brian's tail bapped him on the nose.
Next time, he was going to bite it right off.
