It's All In How You Meow
by James
The day was quiet, just the way Evil Kitten liked it. All the tall people were going on about their business as though expecting nothing.
Just exactly the way Evil Kitten liked it. Evil Kitten waited for just the right tall person to walk by. He was crouched, ready to leap into action. His fur was rumpled in all the wrong directions, his eyes were ready to fly open as wide as they could go and he had his most piteous 'mureow' in his throat.
Tonight he would be dining on tuna and cream, and some hapless creature would find itself thoroughly at his mercy. Come morning the tall person's home would be wrecked.
Evil Kitten had been sharpening his claws all week.
He heard someone coming, and knew that this was exactly the right person. Evil Kitten shook his front paw to give it a limp appearance, and began to limp forward.
"Mow?"
Evil Kitten froze.
"Mow?"
Evil Kitten turned slowly, staring in disbelief. Dear Bast, why have you sent me this, now? Evil Kitten said to himself. He turned back around quickly, but the tall person was already past.
Evil Kitten hissed at the newcomer, then pounced, knocking the other cat over and trying to kick him, hard.
"Hey! What's this? Stop that!" The tall person came rushing over and Evil Kitten found himself being grabbed by the scruff of the neck.
"Bad kitten!" The tall person waggled a finger, then *dropped* him and scooped up the other cat. "Poor thing! Are you hurt? Come on with me, kitty. We'll get you inside away from that evil thing."
Evil Kitten growled as Bendy Kitten peered around the tall person's arm and stuck out his tongue.
At least Evil Kitten had had a chance to give Bendy some of his fleas.
