He doesn't speak when Scott walks into his room that night. He doesn't say no when Scott asks to stay.
He surprises himself a little, and surprises Scott even more, when he doesn't push Scott away. He imagines Scott is telling himself that comfort in agony is worth anything, and that passion is another word for violence. They've fought, and now they've done this, and he doesn't argue when Scott asks quietly if he can stay til morning. He allows Scott to lie close, and they fall asleep entwined.
Scott still smells like her.
