Third Watch drabble
Sep. 26th, 2002 01:17 pmSometimes he stops and looks back. He doesn’t do it often; he doesn’t need people wondering what the fuck he’s doing. Doesn’t need his partner looking out of the window at just the wrong moment – as though she would bother.
But sometimes he stops and looks, anyway, because he has to.
Then he turns his head and walks to his car and tells himself he doesn’t need to look. His own place is empty and small, but it’s quiet and it’s his and he has no business wanting to stay at his partner’s flat just because it feels like family.
