#1 cheat - rail - tender - fly

Four Pennies

Bosco scooted down in the seat, wishing he could just pull his hat down over his eyes and take a nap. Such a complete waste of time, but if he said so out loud Yokas would just rail at him for hours about every time previous in their entire history working together, that he had wasted her time.

What he wanted to do was point out it was close enough to lunchtime to call in and go grab a burger. The fact that he'd been invited to lunch had nothing...ok, everything, to do with it. Jimmy was cooking dinner at the firehouse, and he'd mentioned that morning that since everybody on his shift knew they were together, they might as well have dinner together.

Bosco had told him he'd consider it, then promised to consider it, then told Jimmy that asking him while putting his hand on Bosco's cock until he gave in was cheating, and gave in.

Of course, agreeing to have lunch -- dinner, whatever -- with Jimmy at the firehouse meant nothing, when Yokas decided that one Willard Desmore needed watching. Bosco had tried pointing out it wasn't strictly necessary, because they didn't know for sure Desmore was involved in anything at the moment. For all he cared, Desmore could fly to Tahiti and take up bartending and chasing girls. But Yokas insisted -- she had a 'feeling' -- and so here they were, watching.

"It isn't like we aren't obvious," Bosco groused. "Why don't you get one of the detectives to do this, in an unmarked car?"

Yokas glared at him. "Don't you want to get this guy back off the streets? We've been trying to catch him for a year, now."

"I remember. I was at the briefing too, you know." he scooted back up in the seat, trying to get comfortable. Or uncomfortable, so that he *didn't* fall asleep.

Yokas raised an eyebrow. "What's wrong with you?" Her frown turned into a smile. "You a little tender this afternoon?"

He glared at her. "What's that supposed to mean?" He wasn't about to tell her that he *was*.

"I saw the way Jimmy was looking at you, this morning. That was a 'had a great morning' look."

Bosco glared at her, harder. "I'm not talking to you about my life. About any *part* of my life, which may or may not have anything to do with what you're thinking. Are we gonna sit here all *day*?"

Yokas laughed. "You just wanna go have dinner with your boyfriend."

"How exactly is that a bad thing?" he demanded.

"It isn't." Yokas looked at him, and Bosco got a very, very bad feeling. It was confirmed when she said, "I think it's sweet."

Bosco groaned. The worst mistake he had *ever* made, was letting her find out he was gay.
